Clondalkin Cares Food Bank is a practical, timely and accessible service that plays an important role in combating food poverty.  They support households struggling to provide for their basic needs by making food and sometimes other essential hygiene and baby items available on a regular basis.  Anyone who lives in the Clondalkin, Lucan, Palmerstown, Saggart, Newcastle and Rathcoole areas can access them for one-off, short-term or long-term support.

They initially got involved in food provision in March 2020 as a response to the large number of people facing increased hardships due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  This situation will not change for some time as the Covid-19 pandemic will continue to have a major impact on people’s lives for many more months.

On a regular basis they currently support around 120 households representing close to 450 individuals, of whom almost half are aged under 18.  This number is steadily growing.

You can find more information about them on the Clondalkin Cares Foodbank Facebook.
